Sarasota Wedding Photography - What to Expect from us as your Sarasota Wedding Photographer

Because we provide full day wedding coverage for all Sarasota Wedding Photography packages, a lot happens in the course of the day. Here's a rundown of what you can expect from us as your wedding photography team on your big day (and in the days leading up to and after the wedding!)

First, the booking...

Most people contact us via email from our website, and we like it this way! At the moment we both work full time jobs during the week so email is the best way to get in touch with us quickly. We usually respond within a few hours! It also makes it easy for us to direct you to important information about selecting a wedding package and to answer your questions about our wedding photography services. Once you've decided on Jason as your photographerwe complete a contract and require a $500 non-refundable retainer from you to secure the date. You don't have to pick a package right away - you can always upgrade later!

Once you've booked with us, we may go visit your wedding site (if we've never been there before) to scope out good locations for photos. If email contact isn't enough for you, this is a great time for us to get together to chat and look at some sample wedding albums and discuss your package options (if you haven't decided yet) and photo locations/poses you really want.

As your wedding date gets closer, you might want to book an engagement session with us as well. Siesta Key Beach Portraits make great engagement photos, and booking an engagement session is also a great way for us to get to know you better and get an idea of how things will go as far as posing photos, etc on your wedding day.

As your wedding day gets closer, we'll need your full payment two weeks in advance. This makes it so we don't have to bother you for the payment on your big day.

Then, the big day arrives. We provide full day coverage, so we're happy to start at whatever time you want us! We usually start where the bride is getting ready. We take photos of the dress, the details, and the rings. Then we focus on the girls getting their hair and makeup done and putting on dresses. There are lots of great opportunities for detail shots during this time. If there is time (and if they are nearby), we'll go visit the guys too and take some shots of them getting ready as well.

After everyone is dressed and ready, it's really great if you allow for some time for formal photos before the ceremony. We can get the bridesmaid and groomsmen photos done separately and not have to worry about it later. We can also get some family shots done, such as the bride with her parents and the groom with his parents. The more we can do BEFORE the ceremony, the better!

Next is the ceremonyWe both take photos during the ceremony. Jason walks around near the front of the church (or other ceremony location) and Allyson stands at the back. You'll get lots of great angles and viewpoints this way for your photos. Some churches have rules about flash and/or taking photos in general. It's always good to check this out in advance so you're not surprised!

After the ceremony, we take formal photos. This includes family photos, bridal party photos, and of course, photos of the bride and groom on their own. This usually takes close to an hour - it works out great if you plan a cocktail hour after your ceremony so that your guests are occupied while we take photos. If you can allow for more time, that's great! The more time you give us, the more variety of photos we can take!

At your reception, we usually sneak in the room ahead of time to take photos of details such as place settings and your wedding cake. Once everyone arrives, we take candids all night of your guests dancing, special dances, the cake cutting, garter toss, etc. We're there until the very end, so if something happens, we will be there to document it! And when you finally say "Good Night" to your guests at the end of the night, we'll get that photo too.

After your big day, we know you'll be anxiously awaiting for your photos. We try to have a really fast turnaround time so you don't have to wait long. We go through the photos within a few days, weed out any "duds," do some minor photo editing, and post 500 or more of the best photos in an online gallery so you and your friends and family can view them right away. You can order prints at reasonable prices and share your photos on Facebook or other social networking sites or via email. If you place an order, we do more extensive Photoshop work so that the photo looks perfect before it is printed. We're constantly working behind the scenes to make sure your photos are just right.

If you selected a bigger package, your wedding DVD will arrive within 2 weeks and the timeline for albums and enlargements is dependent on your selection of photos.

We hope this has helped you understand how a typical wedding runs for us. If you are interested in booking us as your Sarasota Wedding Photographer or in finding out more about our packages, please contact us today!
