Will you be taking our beach portraits?Yes! We do not subcontract our beach portrait shoots. We (Jason and Allyson) will be the ones taking the photos at your beach portrait session.
We generally set aside about 45 minutes to an hour for a beach portrait session. We will arrange the time with you based on the sunset time on the day of your session.
The number of photos depends on the size of your group, but we try to do 3 or 4 poses/locations with a nuclear family group or couple. This number obviously is reduced for large family groups because we need time to include small and large family groupings (1-2 poses per nuclear family, plus special groupings you may have requested - all kids, all adults, grandkids w/grandparents, etc).
We recommend white tops and khaki bottoms (our favorite!), white tops and denim bottoms, or black tops and denim bottoms. Other colors are OK as long as you stick with solids instead of patterns. More about what to wear.
The photos will look the best if everyone in the group selects the same color combination!
While enjoying the sun at the beginning of your vacation, be careful of sunburn! A little pink in the cheeks looks good in photos but beet red faces are not the greatest!
Where will you take our beach portraits?We have a great spot on Siesta Key that we like to use for our beach portrait sessions, but we know it is easier for many people if we come to you. If you are vacationing somewhere nearby and have a different location you would like us to meet you at for your beach portraits, we are happy to accommodate you. We also recently found a gorgeous spot on Longboat Key... and we've done lots of beach portraits right at condos/hotels. We're flexible! Just ask!
We work fast - We will have your proofs online within a few days of your session!
Will you give us the negatives or what is the charge?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a CD or DVD for beach portrait sessions. Here's why we think you'll be just as happy to order your prints from our website!
While we generally do not complete contracts for beach portrait sessions due to their short length and typically short notice for booking, we understand that some people feel they want something "in writing." Here's an example of what that contract would look like if you decided you wanted one.
We have never not shown up for a beach portrait session and we always post the photos on our website within a few days. We hope you'll take our word for it so we don't have to go through this additional step! Thanks!
